What we do

Every job, from a single dead socket to a full commercial rewire, is quoted in writing and signed off to current BS 7671 standards.

Domestic

Domestic electrical work

Everyday household electrics across Dorset and the South Coast. Extra sockets, light switches, downlights, kitchen and bathroom circuits, outdoor lighting and garden power.

Where an existing installation is old enough to be holding the house back, we quote either a partial or a full rewire and stage the work room by room so you can still live in the house while we are doing it.

Fuse board upgrades, where we replace the consumer unit with RCBO protection on every circuit, typically take a day. You will have an Electrical Installation Certificate before we leave.

Commercial

Commercial electrical work

Shops, salons, offices, workshops, cafes and small industrial units across Dorset and the South Coast. We handle three phase distribution, submains, lighting layouts, emergency lighting to BS 5266, dedicated machine circuits and small power layouts.

For new tenants taking on a shell unit we do the full fit out from incoming supply to last socket. For occupied premises we work outside trading hours.

Every commercial install ships with the Electrical Installation Certificate, schedule of inspections, schedule of test results and, where applicable, emergency lighting and fire alarm declarations.

EV charging

EV charger installation

Domestic and workplace electric vehicle charge points. We site the unit somewhere that makes sense for how you actually park, run the cable cleanly, and balance the load on your existing supply where the headroom is tight.

Installs are carried out in line with the latest IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation. We can fit a reputable charger you have already bought, or specify and supply one to suit the property.

Workplace installs include multi point set ups with shared load management, dedicated metering where you want to bill back to drivers, and weatherproof commercial grade enclosures.

EICR & testing

EICR & landlord testing

Electrical Installation Condition Reports for landlords, homeowners selling or remortgaging, and commercial premises as part of insurance or due diligence.

A typical three bedroom flat takes around two to three hours on site. We send the report digitally within a few working days.

If the property comes back as Unsatisfactory you also get a clear quote, line by line, for the remedial work needed to bring it back to a satisfactory pass.

Fault finding

Fault finding & repair

Tripping RCDs, dead circuits, lights that come on by themselves, sockets that smell warm, and intermittent faults need methodical testing rather than guesswork.

We use insulation resistance and loop impedance testing to narrow the fault down to a specific circuit and, where possible, a specific run of cable or accessory.

The repair is certified with a Minor Electrical Installation Works certificate so you have a written record that it has been put right.

Extensions

Extensions & new circuits

First fix wiring for extensions, loft conversions, single storey rear extensions, garden offices and outbuildings. We work to the building control timetable so the inspector signs off cleanly at each stage.

Outdoor power, including garden lighting, outbuilding submains, hot tub circuits or EV chargers in detached garages, is run in armoured cable and weatherproof fittings with appropriate RCD protection.

Second fix is coordinated with the rest of your trades so plasterers, painters and kitchen fitters are not waiting on us, and we are not waiting on them.

Solar

Solar PV installation

Solar panel installation tied into your existing consumer unit, sized to your roof and your actual usage. We handle the full install from scaffolding to final connection, including the G98 or G99 application to your Distribution Network Operator.

Every system is designed around your roof orientation, pitch and shading so you get realistic estimates of what the array will actually generate, not a best-case brochure number.

We also handle MCS certification if you are applying for Smart Export Guarantee payments. Every install ships with the Electrical Installation Certificate and full DNO compliance.

Storage

Battery storage systems

Battery storage lets you keep excess solar generation from the middle of the day and use it during the evening peak when the house is drawing the most. For homes without solar, batteries can still pay for themselves by charging on cheap overnight tariffs and discharging through the day.

We fit AC and DC-coupled systems from the main manufacturers, sized around your actual daily consumption. The inverter and battery go somewhere sensible — garage, utility room, loft or outdoor wall — with clean cable runs and proper ventilation.

For businesses, battery storage can shave peak demand charges, ride through short outages, and provide backup for critical circuits. Every install is certified and registered with the DNO.
